Understanding the process that you will go through while taking on a project allows you to organize your schedule and manage your responsibilities.
1. Initial contact
Whether you come to us with a plan, or are in need of a plan, the phone call is the first step to getting your project underway. We will discuss your wants and needs and arrange for a home visit to review your thoughts and share ours. We do not simply send salesman out to your home, we send experienced carpenters to assess all of the possibilities.
2. Scope of work visit
We will send a qualified carpenter to assess your home and the ideas you have for remodeling and/or building. The discussion will guide you to consider possibilities as well as restrictions based upon design ideas and building codes. This will allow us to provide you with a rough estimate for the project.
3. Plans and permits
After ideas become the concepts for actual plans, we will refer you to our trusted architects or contact your self-selected architect. At this point, plans are drawn and reviewed. If permits are needed, PRC will guide you with permit applications.
A detailed proposal will be written based upon the plans submitted. You will have a clear outline of the work to be performed and an overall cost for the job.
Upon acceptance of the proposal, a contract is ready to be signed. The contract will include any plan revisions, a detailed payment schedule, and a start and completion date. If permits are needed, PRC will file the proper applications and submit the drawings to the local municipality.
6. Design choices
Before and during the process, the homeowner is faced with making many design choices that will make their house a home. You may choose to go it alone or hire a designer to work with you. Selections that will be made may include doors, windows, roofing, siding, plumbing and lighting fixtures, cabinets, flooring, counter tops, paint colors, etc. Please inquire about our partnerships with local showrooms. (Your Home Center) They will help guide your decisions and provide you with many available options.
7. Work begins
Once permits are approved, the work may commence. At this time, you are introduced to your project manager. He will be your go to person that will answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. As the job progresses, you will develop a relationship that will enable the job to run smoothly. He will guide you with your responsibilities to ensure that a tight time schedule is adhered to as we know how important it is for homeowners to "get their house back." Customer satisfaction is our goal. We take pride in providing courteous, reliable, and professional customer service. Your project manager, and our office staff, will be there for you every step of the way!
